Why You Should Choose Direct Primary Care

Roanoke VA | Mental Health Services

Other Primary Care Models

A single outpatient office visit under the most common care model often costs more than an entire monthly membership fee for our DPC practice. Patients can imagine that some larger practices may find it harder to personalize care and harder for doctors to take more time with patients. Some practices necessitate doctors to see 2,000-3,000 patients in order to cover the expensive systemic overhead and insurance billing practices.

What is the solution? Direct Primary Care. Read more below!

Direct Primary Care

Direct Primary Care bypasses the inefficiencies of other primary care models. Our DPC practice has fewer patients (generally 250-500) and operates with minimal insurance or health care system disruptions.

Our DPC practice allows patients to see their doctor for longer appointment times via an alternative payment structure. Instead of fee for service like traditional medicine and health insurance, we charge a reasonable monthly fee for membership.

Patients may still use their insurance for the original intent — emergencies and large unexpected health care costs.

Membership includes office visits (both acute care and chronic disease management), telehealth when medically appropriate, preventive/wellness check ups, and convenient communication via secure text and/or phone call using Spruce.
